Lukovec is a small settlement in the Sevnica municipality in east central Slovenia. It lies above the right bank of the river Sava to the east of Boštanj. The area is part of the historical region of Lower Carniola. The municipality is now included in the Lower Sava statistical region.[2]

The local church is dedicated to Mary Magdalene and belongs to the Boštanj parish. It is originally a Romanesque building that was restyled in the Baroque in the 17th century and extended in 1888.[3]
